Boulton & Watt

Boulton & Watt was a famous British company that made special machines called steam engines. It started around 1775 in the West Midlands near Birmingham. The company was made by two friends: Matthew Boulton, a clever maker of things, and James Watt, a smart engineer from Scotland.

Their steam engines helped change the world during the Industrial Revolution. These machines used steam to do big jobs, like moving water and powering factories. Many new inventions came because of their work.

People still see some of these old steam engines today in museums. They are kept working to show how people lived and worked long ago. The company also taught many young engineers who became famous later.
