Brown Trout
Brown trout are colorful fish that live in rivers, lakes, and sometimes the ocean. They are found naturally in Europe, West Asia, and parts of North Africa. Because people love to fish, brown trout have been placed in many places around the world.
There are three main types of brown trout. The river trout lives in rivers. The lake trout lives in large lakes. The sea trout spends part of its life in the ocean and returns to freshwater to lay eggs. Sea trout have many local names, like sewin in Wales and finnock in Scotland.
Brown trout have a slim body and can change color depending on where they live. In freshwater, they may look silver with few spots, or they might have a reddish-brown color. Some types have larger fins and many black spots. They eat many small animals, like insects, tiny fish, and even small birds.
Brown trout are popular among people who like to fish. They have been written about for many years, and fishing for them has become a fun activity in many places around the world.
