Welcome to Bursa!

Bursa is a lovely city in northwestern Turkey. It is very busy and full of life, being the fourth-largest city in the whole country! People often call it "Yeşil Bursa," which means "Green Bursa," because it has many parks, gardens, and forests.

A City With History

Long ago, Bursa was known as Prusa. It was an important place even back in ancient times. Later, it became the first capital of the Ottoman Empire from 1335 to the 1360s. Today, you can still see old buildings, mosques, and special places that tell stories of the past.

Making Things and Having Fun

Bursa is a busy place for making things. Many big factories make cars and car parts here. You might see signs for famous companies like Fiat and Renault when you visit. The city is also known for its yummy foods, pretty parks, and warm thermal baths where people relax.

Mountains and Sports

Near Bursa is Mount Uludağ, a beautiful mountain where people like to go skiing in the winter. The city has a football (soccer) team called Bursaspor. Fans love to watch their games at Timsah Arena, a big stadium that can hold thousands of people.
