What is Cambria?

Cambria is an old name for Wales. It is a special Latin name that people started using a long time ago. Today, many places and things still use the name Cambria to remember the history of Wales.

Where did the name come from?

The name Cambria first appeared in stories written by a man named Geoffrey of Monmouth in the 1100s. He used it to talk about the land we now call Wales. Before that, people used other names like Wallia or Britannia.

Today, you can see the name Cambria in many interesting places. There is a train route called the Cambrian Line and a walking path named the Cambrian Way. In science, the โ€œCambrianโ€ time is an old period named after rocks found in Wales. You might also hear Cambria in songs, plays, and even special flowers called Cambria orchids!
