Carson, California
Carson is a friendly city in the South Bay and Harbor parts of Los Angeles County, California. It is just a short drive from downtown Los Angeles and close to the busy Los Angeles International Airport. Carson became its own city on February 20, 1968.
The city is special because many people from the Philippines live there, making it a mix of many cultures. In 2020, about 95,558 people called Carson home. Families enjoy living here because it feels warm and welcoming.
Long ago, the Tongva people lived in this area. Later, it became part of a big land grant called Rancho San Pedro from the King of Spain. Today, you can visit the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum to see how people lived back then.
Carson has a nice, warm climate, just like the rest of Los Angeles. The ocean helps keep things cool in summer, and there is just enough rain to keep the green spaces happy. Sometimes, mornings can be cloudy or foggy, but the sun usually shines by afternoon.
Many students go to California State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson. It is a big college with students from all around. The city also has fun places like the Dignity Health Sports Park, where you can watch soccer games and other sports.
Carson will be an important place for the 2028 Summer Olympics. It will host exciting sports like Rugby sevens, archery, and tennis. People all over the world will come to watch!
