The Celts

The Celts were a group of ancient people who lived in many parts of Europe. They were found in places like France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and even as far east as Turkey. Different groups of Celts had names like the Gauls in France, the Celtiberians in Spain, and the Gaels in Britain and Ireland.

We know about the Celts from old stories and writings. They had special traditions, including a religion led by people called druids. Even though the Romans later came and changed many places, people in areas like Ireland, Wales, and Brittany kept their languages and customs alive. Today, some people still speak Celtic languages, and many are curious about learning more about Celtic history and culture.

The Celts lived in small villages and sometimes in bigger towns. They were good at making beautiful things, like metalwork with special designs. Their stories often included gods and goddesses, and they believed in magic and the spirits of nature.

Even though the Celts lived a long time ago, their legacy lives on in the languages and traditions of people today. Places like Cornwall, Brittany, and the Isle of Man still celebrate their Celtic roots. The Celts remind us of the rich and varied history of Europe.
