Classical ballet
Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Explorer experience
Classical ballet is a beautiful style of dancing with smooth moves and careful steps. Dancers stand on their toes, turn their legs out, and stretch up high to create a magical feeling.
Different places have their own way of doing classical ballet. In Russian ballet, dancers stretch very high and spin quickly. In Italian ballet, the dancing is closer to the ground with fast steps for the feet.
Ballet began in the Italy courts and was taken to France by Catherine de' Medici in the 16th century. At first, it was performed by people who were not professional dancers. Later, it became very popular in France, and special schools were created to train dancers.
Some famous ballets you might hear about are Don Quixote, Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker. These stories are told through beautiful dancing.
Ballet dancers learn special moves and work very hard to make their legs and feet strong. They wear soft shoes and focus on their steps. As they get better, girls may learn to dance on the tips of their toes. Boys learn to lift their partners and do spins.
