Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a beautiful country in Central America. It is bordered by Nicaragua to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the northeast, Panama to the southeast, and the Pacific Ocean to the southwest.

The capital city is San José, which is also the largest city in Costa Rica.

People have lived in Costa Rica for a very long time. The country became its own nation in 1847. Before that, it was part of the Spanish Empire and later the Federal Republic of Central America.

Costa Rica is known for its strong democracy and love for nature. It focuses on education and protecting the environment. The country is very popular with visitors who come to enjoy its forests, animals, and beautiful landscapes. This type of tourism, called ecotourism, helps the country’s economy.

Costa Rica is also known for using clean energy from nature, like sunlight and water, for almost all its electricity. The country works hard to keep its forests safe and plans to stop harming the planet by 2050.

Nature and Wildlife

Costa Rica has many different kinds of plants and animals. One of its national parks, Corcovado National Park, has many species that live only there. The country has volcanoes, mountains, and beaches. The highest point is Cerro Chirripó, which is 3,819 metres tall.
