Cowlick
Adapted from Wikipedia · Explorer experience
A cowlick is a special little twist or loop in someone's hair. It stands up or lies at an angle different from the rest of the hair. This makes a person's hairstyle look interesting and different. Many people have cowlicks, and they can appear anywhere on the head, not just one spot.
Most often, cowlicks are found at the top of the head, called the crown. Sometimes they show up in the front or the back of the head. A child with two cowlicks is sometimes called having a "double crown."
The word “cowlick” has been used for a very long time, since the late 16th century. A doctor named Richard Haydock helped bring the word into English. If someone wants their cowlick to look different, there are some gentle ways to change it, like using waxing or talking to a cosmetic surgery expert.
