Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Explorer experience
Discovery Park is a big, beautiful park right by the water in Seattle, Washington. It is the largest park in the whole city! You can walk on many fun trails, like the Discovery Park Loop Trail, which is almost three miles long.
The park has many different places to explore. You can find forests, sandy beaches, open grassy areas, and high, rocky cliffs. There is also a special place called the Daybreak Star Cultural Center where you can learn about Native American culture.
At the very west side of the park stands the West Point Lighthouse. This old beacon helps ships sail safely. Long ago, part of the park was a place called Fort Lawton, an old military base. Some parts of the fort are still there and are important for history.
Discovery Park is a wonderful spot to see many birds and animals. You might spot harbor seals or California sea lions in the nearby water. The park has many kinds of trees, like bigleaf maple, red alder, and Douglas-fir. It is a lovely place to walk, play, and enjoy nature.
