Edinburgh Airport

Edinburgh Airport is a big place where people get on airplanes to go all over the world. It is in Ingliston, just outside Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland. The airport is about 6 miles from the city center, close to big roads called the M8 and M9 motorways.

Many airlines fly from Edinburgh Airport to lots of different countries. It is one of the busiest airports in the whole United Kingdom. In 2024, it was the busiest airport in Scotland, with lots of people flying from there every day.

The airport has a long history. It started in 1916 as a place for airplanes during a difficult time called World War I. Later, it became a place for people to fly to other places. Today, it has many shops, places to eat, and easy ways to get to and from the airport.

You can get to Edinburgh Airport by bus, tram, or car. There are bus services like Ember that go to cities such as Aberdeen and Inverness. Lothian Buses help you get to Edinburgh itself. There are also trams that take you from the city center to the airport.

Edinburgh Airport is a very important place for travel in Scotland. Lots of people use it every year to visit friends, family, or go on holidays to exciting places like Dublin, Amsterdam, and Paris.
