Glory (honor)
Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Explorer experience
Glory is a special kind of honor and respect that people earn by doing great and important things. It means being admired and praised by many for what they have achieved.
In ancient Greece, glory was very important. People believed that doing brave or clever things brought a lasting good name. The philosopher Plato wrote about this idea in a book called The Symposium.
Glory comes from actions that many people see as wonderful or heroic. When someone does something amazing, others celebrate them and remember their name for a long time. This is the heart of glory.
In Greek stories, heroes earn glory by doing great and brave deeds. The famous poems by Homer, like the Iliad and the Odyssey, often talk about this. One story is about Odysseus and his son Telemachus.
Jorge Manrique, a Spanish poet, also wrote about glory. He talked about how people remember us for what we do, which keeps our fame alive even after we are gone.
