Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe is a beautiful group of islands in the Caribbean Sea. It is part of France and has six main islands: Basse-Terre, Grande-Terre, Marie-Galante, La Désirade, and the two Îles des Saintes. The biggest city is Les Abymes, while the capital is Basse-Terre.

People in Guadeloupe speak both French and a special language called Guadeloupean Creole. Long ago, Christopher Columbus visited these islands and named them after a place in Spain.

The islands have many green forests, tall mountains, and lovely beaches. One of the most famous spots is the waterfalls on Basse-Terre Island. Guadeloupe is also known for its yummy food, which mixes flavors from Africa, Europe, and Asia. Popular dishes include fish blaff and dombrés.

Guadeloupe loves sports! Many people enjoy football, and the island even has its own cycling race called the Tour de Guadeloupe. The islands also have beautiful places to visit, like the Guadeloupe National Park, where you can see nature up close.

Traveling to Guadeloupe is easy with airports and ports where boats and cruise ships stop. The islands get power from the sun, wind, and even steam from underground! Even though some areas can be crowded, Guadeloupe remains a peaceful and fun place to explore.
