What is Guinness?

Guinness is a famous type of dark beer called a stout. It all began in Dublin, Ireland, in the 1700s at a place called the St. James's Gate Brewery. A man named Arthur Guinness started making this special beer there. Today, a big company named Diageo owns Guinness.

Why Do People Know About Guinness?

People all around the world enjoy drinking Guinness. It is made in almost 50 countries and sold in over 120! The taste of Guinness comes from malted barley and a special kind of roasted barley. When you pour Guinness, it has a thick, creamy foam on top because it is mixed with nitrogen and carbon dioxide.

Visit the Guinness Storehouse

There is a fun place to visit called the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. Since it opened in 2000, many people have gone there to learn about Guinness. You can see how the beer is made and even smell the ingredients used. The Guinness logo shows a harp, which is a special symbol of Ireland.

Guinness has many different kinds of beer, but the most famous one is called Guinness Draught. It is dark and has a creamy top when poured just right. People love to visit places where Guinness is made and learn about its history.
