Hawks are special birds that can be found almost everywhere in the world, except for Antarctica. They belong to a big family called Accipitridae and are known for their very sharp vision. This helps them see things from far away.

There are many kinds of hawks. Some, like goshawks and sparrowhawks, live in wooded areas. In the United States, other hawks are called buzzards in some places. These birds have broad wings and strong bodies, letting them fly long distances over open spaces.

All these birds are part of the same family, which also includes kites, harriers, and eagles. Sometimes, people call other birds like the osprey or peregrine falcon hawks too.

Hawks are very smart and can see tiny details from far away. They travel to different places in the autumn and spring. Many people enjoy watching hawk migrations to learn more about these birds.

Hawks live in many places, such as deserts, fields, mountains, and tropical areas. They like open spaces where they can see their food. Parents take care of their young until they can leave the nest. Hawks usually hunt just before nightfall and fly by flapping their wings quickly and gliding on the wind.

Hawks belong to the family Accipitridae. You can find them everywhere except Antarctica. Some types include goshawks, sparrowhawks, and sharp-shinned hawks. In the United States, birds called buzzards are also hawks. This big family includes kites, harriers, and eagles. Sometimes, the osprey or peregrine falcon are called hawks too.
