Hephaestus
Hephaestus is the Greek god of making things, like tools, weapons, and art. He is also the god of fire and metalworking. People thought he made all the special things for the gods to use.
Hephaestus is the son of the goddess Hera. Sometimes stories say Zeus, Hera's husband, is his father too. Hephaestus walked in a special way and sometimes needed help getting around.
People in ancient Greece loved Hephaestus very much, especially in busy cities like Athens. He used tools like a hammer, an anvil, and tongs to make wonderful things. The people of the island Lemnos thought he was very important.
In Roman stories, Hephaestus is called Vulcan. He made magic tools and gifts for the gods and helped everyone with his clever skills.
