The Indus River
The Indus River is one of the longest rivers in the world. It starts in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China and flows through Pakistan before emptying into the Arabian Sea. This big river gives water to many people and helps grow crops.
The Indus River is very important because it has many smaller rivers and glaciers that feed it. These help plants and animals live along the river. The river is home to special animals, like the Indus River dolphin, which lives only in this river.
Long ago, big ancient cities grew up along the banks of the Indus River. People built towns and farms near the river, and it helped them live well. Today, the river still helps people grow food and gives them clean water to drink.
People in different places call the river by different names. In Urdu, it is called "Sindh" or "Daryā-i-Sindh". In Ladakh and Tibet, people call it "Senge Tsangpo". Many groups have their own special names for the river, showing how important it is to them.
