Iraq

Iraq is a wonderful country in West Asia. It lies in the Middle East and shares borders with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, the Persian Gulf, Kuwait, Jordan, and Syria.

The land of Iraq is very special because it was home to ancient civilizations like Sumer, Akkad, Babylonia, and Assyria. People often call this area the "cradle of civilisation" because many important ideas, like writing, the wheel, and the calendar, began there.

Iraq has a population of over 46 million people, and its capital city is Baghdad. Baghdad is a busy city with over 8 million people. Iraq is known for its rich culture, beautiful landscapes, and many different kinds of people living together.

The country has deserts, mountains, and grassy plains. Two important rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates, flow through Iraq and help people grow food. The weather can be very hot in the summer and cooler in the winter. Some northern areas even get snow!

Iraq’s culture is very old and rich. It includes beautiful art, music, and stories that have been passed down for thousands of years. People in Iraq enjoy traditional music called maqam, which uses instruments like the oud and qanun. Football is the most popular sport, and many children love to play it.

Today, Iraq is working to grow stronger and build new things. The country has many places to visit, like ancient cities and important religious spots. Iraq’s history, culture, and friendly people make it a special place in the world.
