Kansas City, Missouri is a big and busy city in the United States. It is the largest city in the state of Missouri. The city is where the Missouri River meets the Kansas River. People often call it "KC" or "KCMO" for short.

Kansas City is famous for its beautiful fountains. It is known as the "City of Fountains" because there are so many of them, especially at Kauffman Stadium. The city also has tasty Kansas City–style barbecue. Many people love to visit places like the River Market District, 18th and Vine District, and the Country Club Plaza.

The city has fun sports teams too. The Kansas City Chiefs play football, and the Kansas City Royals play baseball. There is also a soccer team called Sporting Kansas City.

Kansas City has a rich history. It started as a small port in the 1830s and grew quickly. It was first named Kansas but was renamed Kansas City to avoid confusion with the nearby Kansas Territory. Today, the city covers a large area and has many neighborhoods.

The city is also known for its jazz music, especially from the 1930s and 1940s. Festivals and music venues keep this tradition alive. Kansas City has many places to visit, like museums, parks, and special districts. It is a place with a lot of history, culture, and fun activities for everyone.
