Kerala
Kerala is a beautiful state on the Malabar Coast of southern India. It is famous for its green hills, calm water areas called backwaters, and lovely beaches. People from all over the world visit Kerala to relax and enjoy nature.
Kerala is bordered by Karnataka to the north and Tamil Nadu to the east. The Laccadive Sea lies to the west. The capital city is Thiruvananthapuram.
For thousands of years, Kerala has been known for its spices. Traders from faraway lands visited its shores to buy valuable spices like black pepper. Today, Kerala is still famous for growing crops such as coconut, tea, and coffee. Many people also work in fishing along its long coastline.

The state is also known for its rich culture, with many festivals, dances, and traditional foods. One big festival is Onam, where people celebrate with games, music, and beautiful flower designs called pookkalam.
