Welcome to Kilkenny

Kilkenny is a lovely city in Ireland. It is found in County Kilkenny, in the South-East Region of the province called Leinster. The city sits on both sides of the River Nore, which makes it a beautiful place to visit.

Kilkenny is famous for its old buildings and history. You can see amazing places like Kilkenny Castle, which looks like a fairy tale castle. There is also St Canice's Cathedral, a big church with tall towers. Another cool spot is Rothe House, an old home that shows how people lived long ago.

Every year, Kilkenny holds fun events like the Kilkenny Arts Festival and the Cat Laughs comedy festival. These festivals bring music, art, and laughter to the city. People from all over come to enjoy the celebrations.

Kilkenny has a long history. It started as a quiet place for learning in the 600s. Later, strong walls were built to protect the city. Today, some of those old walls are still standing, reminding us of the past.
