A landmark is a special place that helps people know where they are. It can be something in nature, like a big mountain, or something people built, like a tall building.

Long ago, sailors used landmarks to find their way across the oceans. For example, Table Mountain in South Africa helped ships sail around the southern tip of Africa.

Today, landmarks are important symbols. Places like the Eiffel Tower in Paris or the Statue of Liberty in New York City are famous around the world. They remind us of history and make cities special.

Landmarks can be natural wonders, such as Mount Everest or the Grand Canyon. They help us explore and enjoy the world around us.
