Flamingos are wonderful birds known for their tall legs and pink feathers. The lesser flamingo is one of the smallest kinds of flamingos. It lives in warm places in sub-Saharan Africa and western India. These birds love shallow water, like lakes and lagoons.

Lesser flamingos eat tiny plants and small creatures from the water. This special way of eating helps give them their pink color. When many of them fly together, they look like pink clouds in the sky.

These birds usually stay in Africa and India, but sometimes they travel far north. When this happens, bird watchers get very excited to see them. Lesser flamingos are strong and smart, and they gather in large groups to stay safe.
