Literature is a fun way to tell stories and share ideas. It includes books, poems, and plays. People have been telling stories for a very long time, even before they could write!

Literature helps us learn about different places, times, and people. It can make us laugh, think, or feel happy. Reading stories is like going on an adventure with words!

There are many kinds of literature. Books come in many shapes and sizes. Some are long stories called novels, while others are short tales called short stories. Poems use special words and sounds to create beautiful pictures in our minds.

Sometimes stories are acted out on a stage. These are called plays or drama. Long ago, people told stories by speaking them out loud. Even today, some cultures keep traditions alive by sharing tales this way.

Literature is found all around the world. In ancient Egypt, people wrote on stone and paper. In ancient China, they wrote poems and stories about life. Today, we can read books from many countries and learn about their cultures.

The Library of the Palais Bourbon in Paris is a beautiful place full of books. Libraries everywhere help us find and enjoy literature. Reading can open up new worlds and help us understand others better.
