The Louvre is a very famous art museum in Paris, France. It used to be a home for kings and queens, but now it is a place where everyone can see beautiful paintings and sculptures.
One of the most famous paintings in the whole world, the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci, lives in the Louvre. People come from all over to see this special picture and other amazing artworks.
The Louvre is located on the Right Bank of the Seine river in the city's 1st arrondissement. You can visit it most days, except Tuesdays. The main entrance is through a glass pyramid called the Louvre Pyramid, which looks like a sunny spot in the desert.
Inside, you can see many wonderful things, like the Venus de Milo, a beautiful statue from ancient times, and the Winged Victory, which looks like a flying angel. The Louvre has over 500,000 objects, but only about 35,000 are shown at one time.
The Louvre is the largest museum in the world. It has art from many places and times, including Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. There are also rooms filled with beautiful paintings, decorations, and sculptures that make you feel like you are stepping back in time.
