Manchuria
Manchuria is a special place in Northeast Asia. It is made up of parts of China and a little bit of Russia. Today, it includes three Chinese provinces: Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning.
People have lived in Manchuria for a very long time. Many different groups, like the Manchus, Mongols, and Koreans, call this place home. Long ago, early Korean kingdoms and the ancestors of the Manchus lived here too.
The name "Manchuria" comes from the word "Manchu." It was used by Japan when they created a state called Manchukuo. Today, many people in China call the area the "Northeast" instead of "Manchuria" because of its history.
Manchuria has many different kinds of land, from mountains to wide flat areas. The weather there changes a lot, with warm, rainy summers and very cold, dry winters. This makes it a special and interesting place to learn about.
