Max Planck was a brilliant scientist from Germany. He was born on April 23, 1858, and passed away in 1947. People remember him for his amazing work in physics, especially for discovering something called energy quanta. Because of this, he won the 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics[/w/2].

Planck grew up in a family that loved learning. His father was a teacher, and Planck was very good at math and music. He played many instruments, including the piano and violin. He studied at famous universities like the University of Munich and the University of Berlin.

Planck’s big idea changed how we understand tiny parts of the world. He introduced the Planck constant, a special number that helps explain how energy works in very small things. This idea helped start what we call quantum theory[/w/3], which is a very important part of modern science.

Because of his big impact on science, Planck became a leader in a group called the Kaiser Wilhelm Society. After he passed away, this group was renamed the Max Planck Society. Today, this society has many research centers all over Germany studying many different parts of science.

Planck loved music and often had music nights at his home. Famous scientists like Albert Einstein would visit and play music with him. Planck believed that music and physics were both ways to understand beautiful, universal truths.
