What is Mirovia?

Mirovia was a very big ocean that scientists think was around a huge land called Rodinia. This happened a long, long time ago, about a billion to 750 million years back!

A Very Cold Time

During a very cold time called the Cryogenian period, Mirovia might have frozen over with thick ice. Some people call this the Snowball Earth idea.

How Mirovia Changed

As time went on, parts of Mirovia started to move. This helped create another big ocean called Panthalassa, which was the first version of the Pacific Ocean we know today.
