Moroni, Comoros

Moroni is the largest city and capital of the Union of the Comoros. It is found on the island of Ngazidja, the biggest of the three main islands. The name Moroni means "at the river" in the local Shingazidja language.

The city has a port that helps it connect with other places. It is also home to important government buildings and places of worship, like the Badjanani Mosque.

Moroni lies along Route Nationale 1, a major road on the island. The city has a tropical climate with lots of rain, especially from November to April. The weather is warm, with temperatures usually between 14–34 °C (57–93 °F).

Moroni is an important place for the people of the Comoros. It has markets, banks, and an airport called Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport. The city is a busy hub for trade and travel in the Indian Ocean.
