What Are Non-renewable Resources?
Non-renewable resources are special things from nature that we cannot get back quickly. Once we use them, they are gone for a very long time. Some examples are coal, oil, and natural gas. These come from old plants and animals that changed over millions of years.
Where Do We Find Them?
We find these resources in the ground. For example, coal comes from mines, like in Wyoming. Oil and natural gas are found deep under the earth. There are also special minerals and metal ores that we dig up. These take thousands or even millions of years to form.
Why Do We Need To Care?
People use these resources for energy and many things we need every day. But because they do not come back quickly, we must be careful how we use them. Scientists work hard to find new ways to use less of these resources and to use renewable energy instead. Renewable energy comes from the sun, wind, and water, and it will not run out like oil or gas.
Learning About Our Planet
Understanding non-renewable resources helps us take care of our planet. By learning about them, we can make better choices for the future. This way, we can keep our world healthy and beautiful for everyone.
