The North Atlantic Current is a big, warm current in the Atlantic Ocean. It carries warm water from places near the equator to colder parts of the world. This helps make some lands warmer than they would normally be.

The current starts near a place called the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. It flows north and then turns east across the ocean. Along the way, it splits into different parts. One part moves toward Africa, while another moves along the coast of Northwestern Europe.

This current is part of a large system that moves heat around the Earth. It helps control weather and climate in many places. Scientists watch this current to see how it might change in the future.
