Oakland Coliseum

The Oakland Coliseum is a big stadium in Oakland, California. It is part of the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum Complex and sits next to the Oakland Arena. Many people go there to watch sports and concerts.

The Coliseum used to be home to two teams: the Oakland Athletics baseball team and the Oakland Raiders football team. The Raiders have moved to Las Vegas, and the Athletics moved to West Sacramento in 2024. Now, a new cricket team, the San Francisco Unicorns, plays there.

In 2017, the field was named Rickey Henderson Field to honor the famous baseball player Rickey Henderson. Henderson played for the Athletics and is known for his speed and exciting plays.

The Coliseum can hold up to 63,132 people, depending on how it is set up. It has a special design where the playing field is below ground level. This makes it feel different when you walk into the stadium.

Many famous events have happened at the Coliseum. It has hosted baseball games, football games, concerts, and even car shows. Fans have enjoyed watching their favorite teams and artists perform in this historic place.

The Coliseum has also been used for movies and music videos. It is a part of Oakland’s history and will continue to be used for exciting events in the future.
