Omsk

Omsk is a big, busy city in Russia. It is the largest city in a place called Omsk Oblast, and it has over one million people living there. Omsk is very important for trains because it is a big stop on the Trans-Siberian Railway.

The city sits near two rivers, the Om River and the Irtysh River. These rivers help people travel and move things. Omsk is also a place where roads and railways meet, making it a busy spot for transport.

Omsk has a long history. It began as a small fort built in 1716 to help protect trade routes to China. Over time, it grew into a big city. Today, Omsk is known for its universities, museums, and sports teams.

People in Omsk enjoy many cultural places like theaters, art museums, and music venues. The city has warm summers and very cold winters, with lots of sunshine during the year.

Omsk is also linked to many cities around the world as sister cities, including places in Turkey, China, and Poland.
