What is Operations Research?

Operations research, often called OR, is a special way to help people make the best choices. It uses math and clever ideas to solve tricky problems. Imagine you have to share candies with your friends. OR helps figure out a fair way so everyone is happy. It looks for the best way to do things, like saving time or money.

Where Did It Start?

A long time ago, before big computers, people used OR to help plan big projects. It grew from solving problems in many places, like factories, airlines, and even governments. Today, OR helps companies make smart plans and solve hard problems faster.

Why Do We Use It?

OR helps in many everyday things. It can plan the best routes for school buses, decide where to build new parks, or even help hospitals manage their work. By using math and smart thinking, OR makes our world work better and smoother for everyone.
