Ancient City by the River
Pallantium was an old city near the Tiber river in Italy. It was a special place in stories told by the ancient Romans.
According to Roman mythology, the city was started by a man named Evander of Pallene and other ancient Greeks. This happened before a big story called the Trojan War. Some writers, like Dionysius of Halicarnassus, say the city was named after a place called Pallantium of Arcadia.
Pallantium became part of ancient Rome. This helped link Rome to old Greek heroes from stories. It was one of the early places that helped make Rome grow into the great city we learn about today.
