Paolo Maldini was a famous Italian football player. He played all his career for AC Milan. Maldini was known as one of the greatest defenders ever.

Maldini started playing for AC Milan when he was very young. He became a key player and helped the team win many important prizes. He played for the team for 25 seasons and won 26 trophies, including the European Cup five times.

After stopping to play in 2009, Maldini stayed with AC Milan in other roles. He helped bring great players to the team and was a leader. Milan retired his number 3 shirt to honor him.

Maldini was also part of the Italy national team for many years. He played in big tournaments and became a captain. Though he never won a major title with Italy, he was loved for his strong defending and leadership.

Maldini is remembered for his calm, smart play and many records. He played over 1,000 games and is one of the most respected defenders in football history.
