Who is Phorcys?

Phorcys is a character from Greek mythology. He is a special sea god. In old stories, Phorcys is the son of two important forces of nature: Pontus, the sea, and Gaia, the Earth.

What did Phorcys look like?

People imagined Phorcys as a fish-tailed merman. He had red, spiky skin and crab-claw legs. This fun look helped people picture him in their minds.

Phorcys's family

Phorcys had a wife named Ceto. Together, they had many interesting children. Some of their famous children were the Graeae, the Gorgons, and Scylla. These children were known for their special powers and stories in ancient tales.
