What is Platinum?

Platinum is a special kind of metal. It is very shiny and looks like silver. Platinum is soft and can be shaped easily. It does not change when it touches air or water, which makes it very useful.

Where Do We Find Platinum?

Platinum is rare, meaning we don’t find much of it on Earth. We can find it in places like Colombia, Russia, and Canada. Scientists have also found platinum on the Moon and in space rocks called meteorites.

Why is Platinum Important?

Platinum is used in many important ways. It helps cars clean up their exhaust, making the air better. People also use platinum to make beautiful jewelry. It is used in laboratories and even in medicine to help treat some sicknesses. Because platinum is rare and valuable, it is sometimes used for special awards and fancy decorations.
