Who is Prince Hamlet?

Prince Hamlet is the main character in a famous play by William Shakespeare. He is a prince from Denmark. His father, King Hamlet, was the true king, but he passed away.

A Sad Story

After his father’s passing, Hamlet feels very sad and confused. He learns that his uncle, Claudius, took the throne and married his mother, Gertrude. A special event happens when his father’s ghost appears and shares a secret with Hamlet.

Trying to Find the Truth

Hamlet wants to know if what he heard is true. He plans a clever way to find out by watching how his uncle reacts to a special play. This helps him understand what happened to his father.
