The Rajang River

The Rajang River is the longest river in Malaysia. It flows through the beautiful island of Borneo. The river is about 565 kilometers long, which makes it very special.

The river starts in the Iran Mountains and flows past the town of Kapit. It finally ends in the South China Sea. Along its path, many smaller rivers, called tributaries, join the Rajang River. Some of these are the Katibas River, Balleh River, Bangkit River, and the Kanowit River.

One amazing thing near the Rajang River is a big dam called the Bakun Hydro Electric Dam. This dam helps give electricity to many people. The river is also home to many animals, like dolphins, gibbons, and different kinds of birds and fish. People living near the river use it for travel, fishing, and growing crops.

The Rajang River is very important to the people who live near it. They use the river for many things, and it is a wonderful part of Sarawak.
