Redding is a friendly city in Shasta County, California. It is the biggest city in the Shasta Cascade area of Northern California. The city sits along the beautiful Sacramento River. Redding is a place where families and friends come together to enjoy life.

A Little History

Long ago, the Wintu people lived in the area around Redding. Later, a man named Benjamin Bernard Redding helped start the town. He gave his name to the city! Redding grew when railroads and roads came through. Today, it is a busy place with many jobs and fun things to do.

Redding has many interesting spots. You can visit the Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay, which looks like a huge sundial. The city also has parks, museums, and theaters. One cool place is the Cascade Theatre, which shows movies and performances.
