Santa Claus
Santa Claus is a happy story figure many children hear about. People say he brings gifts to good children on the night of Christmas Eve. He is said to live at the North Pole in a big workshop.
Santa Claus is often shown as a round, jolly man with a white beard. He wears a red coat with white fur edges and a red hat. He laughs a lot and says, “Ho, ho, ho!” Many children write letters to Santa, asking for gifts.
The story of Santa Claus comes from old tales about Saint Nicholas, a kind bishop who gave gifts to children. In different places, people have fun traditions around Christmas time. Some say Santa comes down the chimney to leave presents under the Christmas tree.
People all over the world enjoy the idea of Santa Claus. He is a symbol of giving and kindness during the holiday season. Many families have their own special Santa Claus traditions, like parades and visits to stores.
Santa Claus is loved by many because he reminds us to be kind and think of others, especially during Christmas.
