Shaanxi
Shaanxi is a big place in Northwestern China. It touches many other areas, like Inner Mongolia to the north and Sichuan to the south. The land is very large, about as big as some countries!
The most famous city in Shaanxi is Xi'an. Xi'an is one of the oldest cities in China. Long ago, many important rulers lived there. Today, Xi'an is a busy city with lots of history. People can visit places where emperors once lived!
Shaanxi has three parts: Northern, Central, and Southern. The Central part, called Guanzhong, has the most people and the Wei River valley. The Northern part is dry and hilly, while the Southern part is full of mountains.
In the past, Shaanxi was very important. The city of Yan'an helped leaders plan for China’s future. Today, Shaanxi is good at making airplanes and other new technology.
People in Shaanxi enjoy special food called Shaanxi cuisine. They also love a traditional style of folk opera named Qinqiang. Shaanxi has many interesting places to visit and lots of history to explore!
