Siq
Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Explorer experience
The Siq is a very special pathway that leads to an amazing old city called Petra in Jordan. It is narrow and dark, with tall cliffs on both sides. The Siq is about 1.2 kilometres long, which is almost a mile!
People who visit Petra walk through the Siq to see something very beautiful called Al-Khazneh, or the Treasury. This is one of the most famous sights in Petra. The Siq was built thousands of years ago by people called the Nabatean. It was used by traders who brought goods into the city.
Inside the Siq, there are special little spaces in the walls where people could put things. There are also big statues of people leading camels, found by explorers in 1998. The Siq is a fun and exciting place to explore when visiting Petra!
