A beautiful view of Slieve Donard mountain and the coastal town of Newcastle in County Down.

Slieve Donard is a very tall mountain in Northern Ireland. It is the tallest mountain in all of Ulster and the seventh tallest in Ireland. This beautiful peak is part of the Mourne Mountains and looks out over the Irish Sea.

At the very top of Slieve Donard, you can find old stone circles and special stone piles called cairns. Long ago, people told stories about heroes and a man named Saint Donard who lived near the mountain. Many visitors still climb the mountain today to see its amazing views and learn about its history.

The mountain is close to the town of Newcastle and offers many paths to walk up. One popular path is called the Mourne Wall. From the top, you can see faraway places like Belfast Lough and even the Isle of Man. Slieve Donard is a special and important place for people who love nature and stories from long ago.
