What is Social Science?

Social science is a special way to study people and how they live together. It looks at groups, how they make choices, and how they change over time. People have been studying these things for a very long time.

Different Kinds of Social Science

Social science includes many different areas of study. Some of the most common are:

  • Anthropology – learning about humans and their lives
  • Economics – how people make and share things
  • Geography – studying the Earth and its people
  • History – learning about the past
  • Psychology – how people think and feel
  • Sociology – how people live in groups

Each of these helps us understand more about people and the world.

Why We Study Social Science

Social science helps us understand why people act the way they do. It shows us how societies work and how we can make them better. By studying these ideas, we can learn to help each other and solve problems together.

Many smart people have helped us learn about social science. They come from all over the world and have shared important ideas that help us understand people better.
