Sydney has been home to Aboriginal Australians for thousands of years. In 1788, it became Australia’s first European settlement when the First Fleet arrived. Today, Sydney is a lively city with people from many countries.

Sydney is full of famous spots! Tourists love to visit the tall Sydney Harbour Bridge and the beautiful Sydney Opera House. These are some of the most photographed places in the world! The city also has many parks, beaches, and natural areas to explore.

Sydney is a major economic centre and one of the world’s most liveable cities. It has many jobs, great schools, and lots of fun things to do. The city hosted the 2000 Summer Olympics, which brought people from all over the world to its sports venues.
