What is a Team?

A team is a group of people or even animals who work together to do something special. Teams are made up of members who have different skills. When they work well together, they can do much more than they could alone.

Why Do We Have Teams?

Teams became popular in business in the late 20th century. Some people think teams help everyone feel happier. Others think teams can sometimes put too much pressure on people. Today, the word β€œteam” is used for many kinds of groups. For example, game players often form teams to improve their skills. Even leaders might choose teams of horses, dogs, or oxen to carry passengers or goods.

Fun Facts About Teams

  • Teams can be made of people who do different jobs together, like in a sports game.
  • Some teams use computers and the internet to work together, even if they are far apart. These are called virtual teams.
  • Teams can also be made of animals! For example, a team of oxen can pull a wagon together.

When team members talk often and work well together, they can achieve great things!
