Ueno Park
Ueno Park is a big, beautiful park in Taitō, Tokyo, Japan. It was made in 1873 from land that once belonged to a temple called Kan'ei-ji. Ueno Park was one of Japan’s first public parks, built after parks in countries far away.
The park is very special because it has many big museums and lovely cherry blossom trees. Every spring, families and friends gather under the blossoms for a happy celebration called hanami. Today, lots of people visit Ueno Park each year, making it a favorite place in Japan.
Ueno Park has many trees, like Ginkgo biloba and cherry trees, and a small lake called Shinobazu Pond. The pond is a nice home for birds during winter. There is also a tiny island in the pond with a shrine for Benzaiten, the goddess of fortune.
The park has many places to learn, such as the Tokyo National Museum and the National Museum of Nature and Science. There are also music places like the Sōgakudō Concert Hall and the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. You can also visit the Ueno Zoo, a fun place to see animals.
