University of Regina
The University of Regina is a big school in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. It started in 1911 as a small school called Regina College. Back then, it had only 27 students and was connected to the Methodist Church of Canada. Over the years, it grew and changed a lot.
Today, the University of Regina is a place where many students come to learn. In September 2023, more than 16,800 students were studying there! The university helps students learn in many ways, like hands-on projects and special work experiences. It is known for its research and for teaching students useful skills.
The university works with special colleges like Campion College, First Nations University of Canada, and Luther College. These colleges offer different programs and help students in many ways.
Students at the University of Regina can join sports teams too. The teams are called the Cougars and the Rams. They play many sports, including football, basketball, and hockey. The university also has a student newspaper called The Carillon, where students share their ideas.
The University of Regina has many buildings where students can live, like College West and the tall Wakpá and Paskwāw Towers. These buildings have rooms for students to stay in while they study.
The university also helps Indigenous students with special programs and services. Elders from Indigenous communities visit the campus to support students, and there are programs to help Indigenous students find good careers.
The University of Regina is a place where students from all over come to learn, grow, and prepare for their future.
